October 4th-8th: Zadar

This post will be relatively brief because I think the pictures speak for themselves. I spent the first weekend in October in the town of Zadar on the Adriatic coast. This Croatian town with a history stretching all the way back to antiquity. It is located in the Dalmatian region and the weekend I spent there included great food, great friends, and great weather.

This is a photo of the sea from the ferry we took to the island of Ugljan on Saturday Morning where we spent the day at a beach on a nice quiet inlet. This meant that the weather was perfect. We were out of the wind and it was warm enough to spend the day sunbathing.

After we left the beach, our taxi driver (a.k.a. a young man that was called by the woman working at the tourist agency) took us to the highest point of the island. Ruins of an old monastery are located here and it was a great photo opp of the surrounding area and islands.

The following day the Amy and Jenn and I spent the morning around the city and the afternoon having a fabulous seaside lunch that included mussels, an octopus salad, some calamari, and of course lots of Croatian white wine (bijelo vino).
